Hello everyone,

I'm back from my "journey." If you are wondering what I'm talking about, you may want to take a look at this thread.

I finally settled in Jacksonville, Florida - primarily to be near my girlfriend. I rented an apartment here in early January.

Soon after settling here, I traded my old van in for a Dodge Dakota and bought a BlackBerry Bold 2 (9700).

Yesterday I purchased a new computer - an ASUS desktop with Win 7 and a 24" LCD. I just got it set up, and I'm currently using my BlackBerry Bold 2 as a tethered modem for connection.

Tomorrow morning Comcast will be here to connect cable Internet and TV.

So, it's safe to say that I'm back!

Alex

Pretty much Comcast is growing and starting more services, even trying to buy NBC. The only problem is that the company Comcast doesn't have the world's best customer satisfaction. So what they're trying to do is instead of having Comcast cable, everyone will have Xfinity cable. Changing the name would hopefully give them a fresh start with customer ratings and first-impressions on new customers who have heard bad things about Comcast.

Rather than naming the product after the company, more telecommunication businesses have been coming up with brand names for their services. Citizens Communication Co. is known to its customers as Frontier. Years ago, Bell Atlantic change its corporate name to Verizon.

They're not the only ones to do it, but I really think it's a dumb idea.

Ah, I see.

Speaking of ISPs has anyone heard what Google is going to do? Apparently going to start to _test_ offer 1Gbit connections: http://technologyexpert.blogspot.com/2010/02/google-going-isp-with-own-fiber-optic.html

Just saw that on Digg, pretty wild. I'm sure I won't be getting it as they are probably only testing it in popular cities close to important Google locations.

There is a Google datacenter about 30 minutes away from me in Lenior, North Carolina… Maybe we'll get lucky? :)

There's a Google data center here in Atlanta. :)

Can't you get in trouble for saying that if they caught you? Or are they more lenient now…

It's a bit delayed, but I thought I would say nonetheless…
