As I'm sure you've all noticed, things have been going pretty slowly around here lately, to the point where I haven't actually worked on esoTalk for over a month.
I'm sorry about this, but it's just the way things have been – I haven't had the time or energy to commit to esoTalk, and considering that it's a free piece of software, I hope you can understand.
However, I'm not prepared to give up or abandon the project. In light of my brother Simon's death last year, I committed to continuing work and eventually releasing esoTalk at its full potential. This commitment sticks.
I'm going to try and push harder to make some time for esoTalk. Essentially, I think the reason I haven't been working on it is because I only let myself work in large blocks of time (ie. at least half a day at a time), and since I've hardly ever had this amount of time available, I haven't done anything. From now I'm going to try and start working on little bits whenever I get a chance.
The support forum is in a bit of disarray at the moment – multilingual conversations are all over the place, and I haven't responded to a lot of posts. I'd like to thank Josh (Thirtysixway) for the responding he's been doing in my place (without me even asking for his help!)
I'll try and clean them up and start actively responding to posts in the near future.
Check the esoTalk twitter for (hopefully) regular updates.
This is a big project, and I can't do it without your help! I encourage you to:
Welcome back!
No problem, Toby. I'm happy to help out any way I can. I really think this software had great potential, and helping out new users is key to spreading the word. Don't feel bad about being out of development for a month, I've gone way longer on my projects. It happens to everyone!
I'll start working on some plugins and such. I also plan on getting my.esoTalk going again.
welcome back 2`
haha
Thank you for work, good luck
I'm on holidays now for 2 weeks. Expect to see some major progress towards beta 3 being made in the next few days!
I am on my “spring vacation” now.
I'm on break too
