Beta 2 is an incremental release on the way to a stable version of 1.0.0 - it mainly focusses on bug fixes. Download it here!

If the data on your forum is important, you should probably back it up before you upgrade! If you have any problems with the upgrade process, post in this conversation.

Common upgrade problems

• If things are displaying weirdly or some Javascript is not working, refresh your browser cache.

So, what's new?

Enhancements:

• The search results table is now extensible; its columns are defined by the search controller. Also added several hooks to the search view.
• Added sendEmail hook.
• Tweak description <meta> tag.

Bug fixes:

• Remove label showing/hiding animation - too buggy and incompatible. #49
• Add textInput event handler to "add member to private conversation" form. #48
• Fix display:inline-block issues in Firefox 2.0. #49
• Fix bug when logging cookieIP in database (column was not unsigned.) Also only check the first 3 parts of the IP address. #24
• Fix fopen PHP warning in upgrader.
• Fix ajax hook return values not working.
• Change some instances of addslashes() to $esoTalk->db->escape().
• Fix new post animation bug.
• Fix conversation list updating JavaScript error.
• Changed plugin/skin version numbers to 1.0 (rather than 1.0.0).

Is the upgrade suppose to be instant without a message saying the upgrade was a success? Didn't even tell me I should delete my /upgrade

You'll need to download a new b2-compatible version of Shouts from the plugins page.

Alright, shouldn't it have come with the b2 anyway? Why bundle broken plugins with a newer beta? Maybe I'm just confused.

Nope, the only plugins included in the esoTalk package are Emoticons, Debug, and Captcha. Your broken Shouts plugin must've remained from your previous installation.

Perhaps that should have been in the readme or maybe we should have some system in place to check for available plugin updates? That could even be a plugin itsself.
